This John Sturges film from1955 is on Film 4 tomorrow (Tues 17th) at 2.15 pm. ' A near flawless thriller, cut to the bone. It's excalating violence is at the service of America's zenophobia.' : The Observer.

Shot in CinemaScope, and with a cast of Robert Ryan, Lee Marvin, and Ernest Borgine and a Cannes Award winning performance by Spencer Tracy. The first 'western' shown in competition at Cannes.

The fight scene between Tracy and Borgine is cinema history.

Go see.

Good Day at Bad Day At Black Rock

I missed this post and showing on Film4 but found it elsewhere, as I like these old tough guys, especially Lee Marvin. -Superb in Cat Ballou. Anyway, nice to see it again.
Film scored by a 25 year old André Previn.
