I think the fRoots podcast is a major step forward for humanity. Now I can listen while I'm on a saunter or, even better, in the car. I've been playing this a lot and it really is good stuff. Particular favourites: The Garifuna Women's Project, Taksim Trio, Antoine Moundanda & Likembe Geant, Baba Zula and, best of the lot according to my ears, the swinging horns of King Kora's "Chedo" ('afro-swiss orchestra'?). Great stuff.

And now the May fRoots Radio is here - the newfangled podcast is live at http://froots.podomatic.com/ beating the streaming version that should come up via www.frootsmag.com/radio in the next day or two, depending on fog in the Channel. Old ones archived . . .

I'm interested to know how you managed this, Ian, as the BBC is forever telling me they can't clear music rights with the applicable owners, who don't like the idea of people listening to their music for no charge.
