Andrew Loog Oldham - Radio Show

"Legendary producer, manager and wry raconteur of the real swinging sixties Andrew Loog Oldham presents a new series on Resonance FM from Thursday 23 June 2016 at 6.30pm: From The Road offers idiosyncratic insights into a variety of blasts from the past - music familiar and strange, sometimes both at the same time, all cast in a new light by one of the authentic guiding forces of pop culture".

You can listen online; on digital radio (if this has national coverage); or on listen again (check the individual programme for its uploads).

SOTW pals Joe Cushley, and Debbie Golt have regular resonancefm programmes, and DJ Ritu's "A World In London" has been going for several years now (on one station or another, since 2010).

The email I received from resonancefm listed the start date as June 3, which is likely a misprint and should be Thursday June 23. Thanks, John, for pointing that out.

Paul Fisher's Far Side Music used to be on Resonance, but has some time since cast itself off. He's still playing lots of good stuff from the orient.

I'm sure Paul's show is still on. I'm sure I heard it in the last couple of weeks. Maybe they're resting it for the summer schedule.

It was on tonight (Thurs, June 2), despite the listings page not listing it.

I caught the first half hour, riding along in my automobile. It was good, but maybe BBC6 Music would have produced a tighter show with a bit less rambling. But he's allowed that, I guess, and why not?

Anyone who plays three tracks in a row by Dion is OK in my book.

It's probably on again, likely at some ungodly hour, but I'll leave it to you to find out when. Do give it a go, though.

I stand corrected. It is still on Resonance, though I can see no mention of the fact on the website. Anyway, the latest edition is entertaining - tracks from CDs accompanying books, including a multilingual version from Penang of Meigui wo ai ni.
