If anyone wishes to hear an extended Gilles Peterson interview broadcast early in December with Brian Auger speaking about his career from Steampacket onwards it is available here, but not for much longer (expires 6:00 pm on Monday)

Just listening to it now. Fab programme. I like Auger. I always thought he was a bit unlucky not to make it bigger than he did. Perhaps it was Gomelsky's bad luck with Marmalade going bust. Very good Hammond player, but perhaps not as good as Stevie Winwood (and, if I'm honest, I prefer Vincent Crane), and I never rated Julie as a jazz singer. Pop singer, yes, great, and the image was perfect. But not a jazz singer.

Lovely interview, though. He sounds like a sweetheart.
