Interviewed about the recording of (and playing songs from) the 1964 "Rhythm and Blues at the Flamingo" LP, with the Blue Flames including Georgie's sons with three original members returning to the group from the 60s, Eddie "Tan Tan" Thornton, Mick Eve, & Colin Green. Val Wilmer makes a very brief appearance in the second programme.

Cool. I have heard it from more than one person who was there at the time that Georgie Fame had the best band in London in 1964.

I heard the tail end of this prog - it's very good and a recommended listen. Val Wilmer's description of the 60s Flamingo Club is amusing: low ceiling, red walls....it was like hell.
