Her always excellent shows scale an even higher peak this Sunday with a superb interview with Allen Toussaint. On line for a week if you missed it!

Listening right now. It really is Radio Heaven, esp in our banal broadcasting age.

Prof Longhair playing, "Tipitina" - of course. A very good interview and discussion. Do listen - and read in conjunction with Garth's interview.

And after Prof? Sounds like Snooks Eaglin......

And in between, I'm baking a cheese cake.

Like Sunday morning used to be. But I still miss Honky Tonk.

An excellent show with AT being relaxed and seeming to enjoy himself. Charlie is irreplaceable, but Cerys does a very good job in her own right. The interview reminded me of the numerous great guests Charlie had on his shows and his skill at drawing out the best in them. Never a banal question or cliched music choice.

Just a note to say that Cerys latest show is a gem with a DJ who specialises in playing 78s coming in to play various old jazz 78s - oh they sound wonderful! Lot os other great tunes forumistas will enjoy.

PS a warning - this week's Iggy show was very weak with him playing a rather dull selection including Let's Dance, several Sinatra tracks, 2 Roxy muzak tunes and other Radio 2 nonsense i never need hear again. Cmon Iggy, kick out the jams!

sounds quite good, I might seek it out on iPlayer. Even Iggy has to gently nudge the odd jam, his feet ain't what they were (allegedly)
