Here's a wonderful radio show dedicated to Blues, R&B and Soul. The shows are all about an hour long and are put together more or less thematically. You can check out the playlists on each programme's web-page. There's a lot of fascinating stuff in there.

The show is broadcast on the radio station of the University of Toulouse so the presenter, Dr Wax, speaks French but don't be discouraged by that. There's not a lot of talk apart from announcing the titles and artists concerned.

I feel like an amateur enthusiast when it comes to Blues, and, of course, I'm very aware that we have some real experts here on the forum. I've listened to about a half dozen of these shows recently, and I have to say I've only heard of a relatively small number of the artists broadcast. But they're great selections, really enjoyable. Perhaps one of the experts can cast a more knowledgeable eye over them - ?

It looks like a good antidote to the weekly blueswank music that Paul Jones Radio2 show seems to churn out week after week. And Dr Wax's facebook page has a cover pic of a Robert Crumb cartoon, which is another plus.

Thanks for the steer, David.

PS Not that I'm casting myself in any expert role, nosiree.

Lovely. I wonder if the good doctor knows that track 3 - Ernie K. Doe - was used for a tv advert?
