Laura Dukes aka "Little Bit" - born 10th June, 1907 (Memphis, Tennessee) [died 14th October, 1992]

Singer, dancer, ukulele and mandolin player. Her father played drums with W.C. Handy's Band and she began performing at an early age. Played with the Memphis Jug Band and Robert Nighthawk in the 1930s. In the 70s she was filmed for the BBC series "The Devil's Music" and appears at the beginning of this episode, introduced by Alexis Korner
