The September fRoots Radio is now out there, and most of it is a programme first transmitted in 1985 when Ben Mandelson - then supremo of GlobeStyle Records and Fiend Of Mustapha - came in as a guest on my local radio show in Surrey with a pile of records. Listen to us sounding alarmingly young and getting all excited, several years before the "invention" of World Music, the release of Graceland etc etc. fRoots history at its primordial soup stage!
