Stumbled across Cerys Matthews little tribute to the british blues label Blue Horizon this morning on Radio 4. Not startling, but a cute little programme that could've sounded great given more time to fill with music. A few good anecdotes and including an interview with Mike Vernon. Many of my past, now valuable records passed before me. I particularly remember wearing down the vinyl on a Blue Horizon sampler called How Blue Can We Get? which included items by lesser noted performers like Jellybread, and Bacon Fat. Googling them both again now in idle curiosity I came across this by Jellybread (featuring Pete Wingfield). O.K. Bobby Bland cannot be beaten but this sounds great to me.
