In the penultimate week of each year, we look back to salute some of those who died in the past twelve months.

When told of someone’s death, we’re liable to have one of four reactions: “I didn’t realise they were still alive…..I’ve never heard of them…. they must have been quite old, so it was bound to happen….how terrible, for somebody so young.â€

Hugely enjoyable if not poignant music to wrap Christmas presents to.
Would be also good to remember Tata 'Djolie' Diakite from Mali who also died in a motorcycle accident Her limited release song Kono Kan Bora gives an insight to what might have been.
Thanks for another year.
Happy Christmas

Are all the albums you played on your show on Dec. 18,2007 marking the passing the passing of some of the international musicians, available in the States and where.

CG reply: not sure, Joseph, Amazon is pretty good but maybe a US contributor can suggest better alternatives?

thanks for calypso bee young tiger miraculously I had never heard it before!!!

I presume you are familiar with Louis Armstrong's anti be bop song to the tune of the Whippenpoof Song. Could you play them back to back?

Could you ask 'uperboves' for a longer programme?

R

regards.
