I would like to hear some Brazilian artists like Ed Motta and Jorge Ben Jor (my favorite, half-Ethiopian, fits with my 2nd generation Somali identity). BTW, why learn Spanish, when Portuguese is the language that the worlds most beautiful music is being made in. I have a list that is too long to input here, but I hope this msg generates some interests in these two artists.

Charlie, Your programmes seem to favour African (especially WEST African) music.
As the programme is supposed to be (quote) 'World' (unquote) music, could we hear some music from the Far East.
For example, from China, Japan, Indonesia, etc. please?
Kind regards,
B.Harris.

can thoroughly recommend Mexican guitar duo, Rodrigo and Gabriela, on Rubyworks label published 2006, CD title as per artists, particularly track 2 called Diablo Rojo. Enjoy

Hi Charlie, I'm new to listening and it's a bit sporadic at the moment. great tunes, love to hear such a variety of artists. really enjoyed the Manu Chao special. sad i missed the Natasha Atlas one. hope to be more regular - keep up the great work!

Hi Charlie Gillet,
I love your World of Music, especially as I am a big fan of African music of which you play a liberal amount. My suggestions would be: Remmy Ongala aka Dr. of Music; Ethiopian Hammelmal Abate; Luo Music from Kenya.
Thanks a lot and keep the music coming!
