Sometimes, listening to World of Music I amuse myself second guessing Charlies ear... a leading rhythm, preludial voices, an answering sound. I have fun listening for the symphony in his half hour show.

Of course it’s mutable, this symphony, and of but one constant, the haunting song. Listening again, I may not hear what I heard before, yet I know, I will hear one song, serene or dramatic - always beautiful- that haunts me. I liked reading the postings on last week's show and seeing others are haunted too. I listened to this week's show before I wrote this down. It's a given. There was another haunting.

I liked the song where the man sang Omar Kayam's, "The Kingdom".

From France?

yes, a curiosity - glad you liked it, Cerise.

I'm not sure what to make of the whole album, but was intrigued to learn what an extraordinaty man Omar Khayan was.

A pioneer astrologer, Omar was also a celebrated poet, most of his poems recommending that we sit around drinking wine and seducing girls. Not sure when he got aorund to looking through a telescope.
