Hi Charlie,

I host a World Music radio show out of Stanford University, and you played from two of my favorite CDs (Chavez Ravine and City Zen) on your last show. Since our taste seems similar, I have a band to recommend that you probably don't know. They're The Palm Wine Boys( and their release "Up and Down" is another of my CDs, you might like them.

email from Naani Benito in Kampala, Uganda

Here in Uganda it was about one o'clock in the evening, I couldn't sleeep, I was having some headaches and I was going to take some panadols and try to get my sleep back. Then suddenly I looked over my phone and started listening to BBC. That is where I listen to my radios.

While I was listening I hear this music, it was like a beautifull poison that kills the nightmares of the night. I couldn't know who was the singer but I just prayed it will never end. By the time it end my headache was gone and I fell asleep in an instant.

Next morring I told to myself how much I enjoyed the song and when I searched on the BBC web site it was a song played by Ali Farka Toure. I enjoyed so much that it scared away my headache and then I thought how much you (charli Gellet) love your job.

I hope you get this and I would like to thank you for the blessed night you gave me.
