The program is fantastic, but the website is a joke, I pay my license fee for this web service??? No track listing on the site. It says playlist at (what?? Click to listen and I get a different program!! This is the kind of mess I've come to expect of the bbc and its a shame. You spend my license fee on a new web site design, and yet its still just as much of a mess. I'm disappointed to say the least.

Must say I agree - tried all day yesterday (also the hourly news bulletin not available all day) & again this morning - I look forward to the programme, especially here in Turkey - here's hoping for an improvement in the service.

Why is there no longer a way to view playlists of previous episodes? Before the reorganization of the site, we were able to access an archive of playlists going back 1 year. Shortly after the reorg, previous playlists were still accessible via a list of previous episodes. Now even that has disappeared, and when one clicks on 'previous programmes' for 2009 only the current episode is listed. I realize only the current episode is available for listening, but please let us view previous playlists.

CG reply: you have to come here, Jay for the full archive

BBC site problems

First of all, thanks Charlie for getting me on here ...

I've just gotten a mobile internet connection after listening on SW for years (my only excuse for not being here before) so it's an incredible luxury just to listen in acceptable fidelity for a change, and anytime I want without having to deal with he vagaries of the WS schedule (including the semiannual shuffle that seems to affect your slots more than most), cosmic noise, and other impediments. So it's churlish to complain, but ...

Re the non-availability of the old playlists over there (which I've been assured is a temporary glitch), I was accustomed to collecting the old playlist data on infrequent visits to cybercafes, so their disappearance was a big deal. Now that I know they're all available here in a much superior format w/ photos, extended descriptions, etc., that's not so important ... but for all the listeners out there still in my former situation, it's only right that the BBC should provide convenient access to this information.

Otherwise I'm no big fan of the WS site reorganization and they're definitely still having problems, but to be fair I've had only minor difficulty accessing the site and listening online so far. They'll probably get it sorted out just in time for the next reorg.

Anyway, good to be here & thanks again for all the great music!
