I Can't Hear Charlie! Flash Player Problem!!!

I'm unable to listen again to Charlie's latest World Service broadcast as the BBC website says I need Flash Player. Fine. So I click on the Flash Player link and FP recognise I'm a Mac user and so i click on the download and this takes 5 mins and as it gets to the very last second it goes "installation failed". This has happened several times now - any techies out there with an idea of how to resolve this? Very frustrating!

Something similar happened to me so I went direct to the adobe site and loaded it from there - I am a Mac user (as some may remember from previous postings!)

Good luck!

Thanks Janet but that's where the BBC link takes you to. I tried again and same answer "failed". I'm a technophobe so when things like this happen I despair and declare that i will revert to the old ways - only listen to radio shows when broadcast etc. Still, if anyone can solve this I would appreciate it!

Garth - have you tried going in via Applications, my OSX Tiger has an Adobe downloads (or some such - am writing this from a beastly pc) application.

You shouldn't have to go under the bonnet surely!

What Mac operating system are you using Garth? There have been so many updates in the past few years that anything before Mac OS 10.3.9 can sometimes be a problem. It may be the latest version of Flash is not compatible with your system?

Also, have you tried accessing the 'listen again' link via another web browser? I've just tried mine with Safari, Opera and Internet Explorer and it seems O.K. with them all but it's probably worth checking this too?

If, by any chance, you recently updated to the latest Mac OS 10.4.11 via Live Update, there have been problems with this update. My printer and bluetooth facilities disappeared for 3 days and I had to eventually reinstall the update as a manual download from the Apple website, after which everything now seems O.K. again. Frustrating though.
