Sorry to disagree Charlie, but a couple of the comments made by Tenalady in particular, seem less than charitable towards other posters on the forum - telling people to "lighten up" and calling someone "duplicitous" is hardly the way to ingratiate yourself with your peers. I can't say that I'm inclined to engage in any discussion with him or her if that's the level of response I can expect.

lighten up

You're missing the point about anoraks... An Anorak is clothing that protects the wearer from the real world. Frankly there's enough real world out there, and being an anorak is a great comfort, like having a cocoon for the mind. Saying that we should turn more towards the real world is probably the OPPOSITE of lightening up.

My question is why are you here and why are you bothering with this forum? - Isn't there a whole world out there to be entertained by instead of wasting your time here - OR if you have a REAL WORLD contribution to make - please make it, and we will enjoy it. If you're here to sneer ad nauseum, kindly go be nauseous somewhere else!

If you're here to participate and contribute in an interested, creative and thoughtful way - we welcome you, if not please cease and desist...

Thank-you

Rob - I have never found the need to ingratiate myself - and you?

by continuing to post on this thread, you are indeed engaging in a discussion with me

my comment was addressed to June - no need for you to intervene

if you decide to stir things up a little by posting inflammatory messages, don't feign horror when things get heated

That's as severe a case of pot-kettle blacking as I've ever seen.

No. Tenalady, (and BTW whilst not mandatory, we do prefer real world names here)....

GET OVER YOURSELF!

Have a nice day y'all!

(damn I fed it - it'll probably bite my hand now)

I don't mind initials.

who you were, probably

who you are, probably not

which is why it's foolish to assume,

maybe the assumption is, that you are a fool.

But it the interests of forum decorum it would be foolish to assume such a foolish thing.

in a funny vein

Right, so presumably 'Spartacus' is also 'Leonidus' who is also 'Leonidas' who is also the artist formerly known as 'Gordon Moore' who is also the artist formerly known as 'gordonfmoore' who is also the artist formerly known as 'gfmoore'. I suspect there's not been as many actors playing Dr Who.

Nice to have you back Gordon (if it is you) but, by creating a whiff of 'sock puppitry' you might be raising unfounded suspicions about other recent members. Which would be a shame as, to quote Dracula, we could do with some fresh blood in here.

Oh,tenalady, I didn't even recognize you not in blue! Didn't mean no disrespect! But what you wear under your anorak? feather boa? Any socks? Django have a thing for a nice pair of socks. But, Spartacus, baby, that loin cloth has to go! Makes you look like a batty bwoy!

Riddim come forward!

There are at least three sock puppets of which one has two aliases! I'll leave it Charlie to decide if I should expose them.

It would be better if they exposed themselves, as it were. But, otherwise, I would like to know. Partly because I'm nosey, partly as it would be good to remove the suspicion from the innocent.

Give me ten or fifteen minutes and I'll unmask! Get off my horse. No, I'm not the Lone Ranger.
