Apologies to those who have sent me PMs recently and not had a reply - I have only just discovered a load sent in the last few days. I don't seem to get notified of their arrival so I'm sorry for appearing rude!

In your Profile, four lines down in the Preferences section, you can select a radio button (I think that's what they're called in the grand world of Interface Design) to notify you via email when a you get a PM. Makes you all twitchy! Quite fun really.

Please feel free to reproduce any that support your frequent name changes, leaving out the names of senders who presumably wish to remain anonymous although I can't think why they don't just speak in public.

On January 13th, in the Forumistas of the week thread, Charlie said:
If there is a poll for best pseudonym for the man with many names, I vote for Prince Desbo

...but of course it had already been changed and continues to change frequently. (I thought, Charlie, that you also enjoyed the adoption of the name Kaka, but can't find the evidence.) Personally, I've enjoyed some but not others. The current one, Smug Posho, is not a favourite.

Also, an average of 2.33 posts per day may be seen as excessive. Nonetheless, I welcome a good number of them. The nature-related item reveals the man's true passion, as do - and this is the point - the ones about music.

...although, to be fair, I lag behind Charlie, Dayna and Jonathan in this respect.

Does that mean mine are still excessive too? I thought I've reduced it a lot.

Not at all excessive, Dayna. At least we keep things short.

... and elsewhere there are wars going on

I like the name changes too.

Being strapped for online time these days, I often only check out the forum just to see what his next name will be! I PMd Charlie to say so, although I didn't see myself as doing so 'anonymously', it was simply because there's always a danger on here of a trivial irritation for some becoming a major headache for all. I hope that doesn't happen with this - rather small in the great scheme of things - subject.

I don't think the name changes hurt as long as he's not insulting anyone.

But I do feel sometimes like the way I said before, about being discouraged. Am I being a pain too?

Dayna - I really like your posts because, like me, you are a music lover who enjoys writing about music. Unlike me you are sensible. I'm sure Adam and Garth in particular value your contributions.

June - thanks - I love reading your stuff as you know.

Where does this number of 2.33 posts per day come from? I had no idea I did so few — but I've never even thought of counting mine or others, let alone averaging them out to a per day number. I hope we're not going to be rationed. Had enough of that in the war. Which war I leave it for others to decide. I'll work on making my posts longer, more convoluted, and considerably more bizarre for those who think they understand them.

Seriously, there are people who simply don't get the idea of this sort of forum. Read what you want. Ignore what you don't care about. Say what you want — within some bounds that we all have some idea of although many of us on occasion test those bounds (as we should). No one has to read everything everyday; you will not be quizzed. It's supposed to be a fun and informal way to communicate, not a fucking school exam. Like Frankie said, "Relax!"

I post on this forum because I need the distraction from my work, along with the endless cups of tea the civil service is so famous for!
