Donso? Anybody?

Looking forward to ASR tour later this month, and note that Seun Kuti is being supported by Donso - electronica from Mali/France. Heard a couple of tracks on Youtube and they sound vaguely OK.... Anyone heard anything by them?

I've heard a few tracks from their debut album (on the French label Comet).

Some of them I've liked quite a lot, some a little less. Your idea of them may depend on how much of the "electronica" content you like with your "mali". I've stayed clear of the remixes so far - too "club" for me.
The singer Gedeon Papa Diarra has a nice voice, and guitarist/djelengoni player Guimba Kouyate is doing a nice job.

I haven't heard them live though, so all this may be of limited help to you.

Another download that languished on my hard drive — means they were OK but not attractive enough to get worked up about. They reminded me of Depeche Mode or something weird. I've been meaning to get back to them; there's just all this cumbia, you see! We had some chit-chat of Donso here a couple of months ago. Not sure it would tell you much, but you could search.
