The Screens

Postby Ted » Wed Jun 09, 2010 6:47 pm

I just wondered if anyone remembered this band. I saw them supporting The Only Ones at the Music Machine in Camden in about 1977/78. Both bands were a last minute replacement for The Count Bishops and the audience were very unhappy. Very very unhappy. I remember their singer announcing one song with the words "this is about the smell of bus shelters, piss and family planning" to howls of abuse from the crowd. They were clearly Bowie/Glam lovers and probably went to art school. They would have fitted right in a couple of years later.
I always wondered what became of them. The outernet gives no clues. Someone out there must know...
