Who the hell were The Showstoppers ?

Not an aficionado, but I recall that Soft Cell had a hit with another Northern Soul cover - 'What' by Judy Street. I thought it was the other one in Soft Cell, rather than Marc Almond, who was the big Northern Soul devotee.
