Unusually chilled out today (no work tomorrow) so listened to some music. This may sound an odd remark for a forumista but lately, y'know the past few months, I just haven't been as engaged with it all....not sure exactly why. Today I got some vinyl out and some cds and everything sounded fresh - Junior Parker, Muddy Waters, Bob Dylan, Salif Keita....and while I was listening to all that I was fooling around on this PC and chanced to get reacquainted with THE RECIDIVISTS. A couple of tracks on there I'd not noticed before including a little African styling - "Fabien." Very nice. (The whole thing is). http://www.reverbnation.com/recidivists.
In The Dark, a song stuck in my mind since the seventies but never acquired on record, turned up on the Junior Parker cd that I'd won on Norman and Gary's No Reason Podcast months ago but obviously hadn't listened to with any kind of attention.
Then I really enjoyed the youtube clips of Tuba Skinny, Recoil, and Pat Metheny posted by Chris P. and Rob Hall. So thanks to everyone who puts up great clips that appear to fall on stony ground but don't always.
