I asked one place from a website if we can write to them, and they said there's no way we can, but Jim sometimes reads the Facebook page. So, I've been putting my thoughts on there, hoping he will see them. I always seem to have so much to say. But will try to limit it. ;-(

I can remember going to see a good local band and standing up by the stage, right next to the speakers, where I could feel the bass, and watch the guys playing. That's what I like.
I've been writing some things on Simple Minds Facebook page, but I have things to say, that I want to tell Jim Kerr about what I think, about how I'm listening to the songs now. It's not nostalgia. But I never know if he reads that things. It's so frsutrating! I don't know. Maybe he doesn't care what I think anyway. And there's lots of great pictures on there. He is attractive, but I'm not going to be the same as any other woman fan, that just worships him, or whatever. Oh well. I'm still looking for a way to write, if I can.

I've done more reading about the band on Wikipedia. It really sounds like they've been through a lot of ups and downs, with changes and things. I've heard a variety of their stuff from the older music to now, and like most so far. It's a shame. I know it probably happenes to a lot of bands.
I like the way he puts so much emotion into songs. I'm liking Charlie Burchill more and more too. I've listened to intereiws and stuff, with Jim Kerr. he sounds like a genuine person.
I just listened to an entire Simple MInds concert, with Belfast Child, Hypnotized, and others. I loed it! I don't see how they can be compared to U2 at all. Jim is a superb singer, and Charlie's guitar gives me goose bumps at times.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESCi1OWvBW4 Here's a funny interveiw between Bono and Jim Kerr. Ah, I still don't see the comparison really. Jim Kerr, Charlie Burchill, and band have so much more variety, I think.
I also saw an interview with Jim Kerr, and he said he had a real stuttering problem as a kid. That kind of makes him more interesting, to me.. Sometimes, in interviews I've listened to, I can kind of hear a little, but it's not that noticable. I wonder how he got over that. I've read of a couple singers that had a problem with that.
I like listening to him talk. But I've gotten to like Charlie Burchill too. I've found so many interviews and music videos. This one was from when Jim Kerr was so young. It's hard to beleive it's from 1983, which is the year I graduated. I can't beleive I had to miss so much of what they've done. Don't You Forget About Me was clearly only the tip of the iceberg. It does seem like I heard Alive and Kicking somehow too.
This is a recent Simple Minds interveiw. May 2013, with Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill. I like it a lot. I love hearing them both talk. They seem like wonderful guys.
They both answered fans questions. They also answered things about competition between them and U2.
This is from Theme For Great Cities live video, from a year ago, and the guy playing bass for them here, is Ged Grimes. I love love, love watching this guy playing bass guitar, and love the way it sounds too.
This is a song called Celebrate that I love a lot. The Charlie Burchill and his guitar, synths, bass, and unusual rythm makes it kind of enchanting. It's also another one where I love watching Ged Grimes. It's just interesting watching how he plays bass. It looks like he's hitting it.
I am frustrated. I feel like all I want to do is talk to these guys about their music and stuff. Jim Kerr used to have his own Facebook page and used to interact with the fans, but I've heard different reasons he took it down. I missed him! I have sent a letter and a couple of emails, with thingst hat I had in my heart, about their music. I didn't think 4 would be bad, since I wasn't even sure if he'd see but one or two. Now I'm worried it wass too much. I am not sure what to think. Simple MInds is coming to the US finally afyer many years, but none of the gigs are close to NE Ohio. I feel like Johnny Cash's song, I Fell In To a Burning Ring of Fire.
Sorry to hear about your frustration, Dayna. It looks like another busy year for the band. According to this fansite they have averaged 49 gigs a year over the last 35 years and this years' no exception (50 gigs). It also says that right now they are working on new material in the studio. I see there's also a forum. Have you getting more info from there?
