Another Steel Pulse choice would be the wonderful 'Ku Klu Klan'.

Fela Kuti - (just pick your choice)

Ah Fela, the DJ's friend. You can slap on one of his tunes, go off and heed the call of nature, queue up at the bar for a drink, chat with friends and by the time you get back to the decks he'll still only be on the introductory keyboard solo.

Thanks for all your suggestions, all are great, although not all are obvious floor fillers.

You set the trend on that front Jamie, by listing Woody Guthrie!

True, but I was thinking of that as a 90 second interlude, rather than a trend setter.

How about Edwin Starr's "War"

I suggested Charlie might want to play this on his BBC London show when Edwin passed away back in 2003. I also suggested that he might be able to think of another topical reason for playing it. He E-mailed me back to say that it was on a long list of songs that werre banned at the time, including Elton John's "I'm Still Standing" (not to be played while Saddam was still standing)

Well 'The War Song' by Culture Club has something approaching danceability, but it is irredeemably fatuous.

Not sure if 'Wake Up Everybody ' by Harold Melvin & the Bluenotes is a bit too slow but
Lou Rawls ' What's the Matter With the World ' has more BPM
'Ball of Confusion' by the Temptations
'Is This the Future' by Fatback Band
'Tragedy' Bee Gees ????
and How Much is That Doggie in the Window as a protest against the winner of Britain's Got Talent

"How We Gonna Make The Black Nation Rise" - Brother D and The Collective Effort
Which is brilliantly danceable because it uses Cheryl Lynn's "Got To Be Real".

"Moneys Too Tight To Mention" by The Valentine Brothers
