Nice track. I especially like the riff at the beginning, and throughout: sounds like a lost field recording of Hugh Tracey for his 'African Retention in The Roots of Rockabilly' series that never saw the light of day.

Sad to relate, on the strength of two listens, it seems he hasn't been able to clear that 'difficult second album' hurdle entirely. There's a couple of decent tracks in there, but I'd be hard pressed to say that I spent my money wisely on this album.

It's hard for revivalists to progress, isn't it? The Detroit Cobras 2nd album was exactly the same as their first except it was slightly better. The 3rd was the same again only better produced. the 4th was an attempt at progress, it didn't do so well, and that was over eight years ago. What's McPherson going to do? Grow his hair, smoke pot and write protest songs?
