Thanks kk, anticipation and expectations are high - I'm divining signals it's going to be a blinder - I think we can be confident it'll be a really good one at the very least. Just what West African, African, world music, and music in general, needs (and suprisingly often gets)

Interesting post by sometime SotW poster Matt M. over at fRoots forum:

last listened to bits and bobs of the forthcoming Rokia Traore album which sounded amazing. Reminded me quite a lot of the Smiths, Television and Grace Jones, but that might have been because it was playing on someone else's computer at low volume in the background. Recorded in Bristol I believe.
