What do we all think? He sounds like the real deal to me. The first 18 year old to excite this old man in a long time!

Oh, Jake Bugg is so yesterday. Or to be precise, so the 1st of August when I mentioned him in the YouTube thread (approximate responses: nil).

I'm not sure if he excites me, Nigel (at my age, it takes a lot). But I definitely feel that, on the whole, he's a good thing. Or at least not a bad thing. Not yet, anyway. But give him time....

For the record, here's what I said when I was older than I am now (on 1st August):

I'm starting to think that there is hope for young people nowadays. Yes, your roving reporter, after some intensive research (I heard the first song in a clothes shop, and the second in a beer advert on the telly) has found the next 'new Bob Dylan'. Or perhaps more accurately the 'new Donovan'. Can be a bit self-conscious and his singing suggests that he's playing a part rather than just being himself. But you could have said much the same about Dylan or Donovan when they were 18. One to watch. And listen to....

Andy M. muttered:

He's OK, but he's no Stooshe.

Huh? Stooshe?

Oh do you mean the three-piece English R&B girl group that originate from London, England? The group, consisting of Alexandra Buggs, Karis Anderson and Courtney Rumbold, that were signed to Warner Music Group in August 2011—releasing their first single, "Betty Woz Gone", in October 2011? Their next single, "Love Me" featuring American rapper Travie McCoy, that saw the group attain chart success—with the single peaking at number five on the UK Singles Chart? They released "Black Heart" in June 2012, which peaked at number 3 after a month? Them?

Reading between the lines of Andy's initial post, I think it's safe to say that that your analysis is not without merit.

Yep, from London England, as opposed to London Paraguay.
