Understatement of the year, I'd say. It's astonishingly good. The recordings are excellently remastered, the packaging (as you'd expect from Dust To Digital) includes a beautifully illustrated 110 page art quality paperback with notes on every track. Put together by the guy behind the extraordinary Excavated Shellac web site http://excavatedshellac.com/ , it ought to win the Compilation Of The Year and Best Packaged hands down, but I'm sure most pundits won't have come across it.

You'll have to trust me that if this sort of thing appeals to you, it's really worth the 45 quid Amazon UK are charging for it on import (that's 45p a track with a free book, cheap at iTunes prices) - I'd bought one before the review copy showed up! http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005GYSUUC/r ... atfroot-21

Here you can hear samples of the 4 cds. They're only 30 second samples, but the whole box set, all the tracks, are listed.

What a treasure trove.

(If I have a few more drinks before dinner, I might just buy one. Please don't tell my wife.)
