It's annoying how bloody effortless he makes it look. I watch guitarists and piano players as well whose fingers seem barely to move, and I think....Surely it's only a trick.

Should be a good one, if Seckou's other albums and live performances are anything to go by. Marvellous musician and often musically adventuring, can always be 'in' the music making it lift & move

Strut Records are releasing a new album from Ghanaian highlife veteran Pat Thomas. A little like the stuff they've been putting out by Ebo Taylor, but sweeter and lass frenetically funky. Here's a short video of the studio sessions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQoA7SiIhLg

On first listen the album's one of the best I've heard in an age.
