Hi folks,

I've been a bit lax lately about posting here about the current gigs - which have been going very well.... It's a coming together of fantastic music talent, a super attentive audience and an incredibly quirky, creative and inspiring place, or as Tanita Tikaram recently put it, one of the most romantic places in London, THE place to impress someone on a date, but also a great place to come on your own, as it is "incredibly welcoming"... It is a recipe that seems to be working.

So I invite you to come along to catch the last in the current series. It's proving popular so we've decided to move it from the cinema to their main stage, another gem hidden in the heart of this beautiful, historic building. That means there's more space and more tickets available.

West African Blues Project
Wed 27th July
7.45 (doors 7.15)
Tickets 14 pounds each include free tea and coffee.

A meeting of minds; a meeting of culture and music. Modou Touré and Ramon Goose create a beautiful tapestry of voice and guitar. An exquisite collaboration between one of West Africa's finest young singers and British virtuoso Blues guitarist. Modou sings in two of his native Senegalese languages, Wolof and Mandinka, as well as in French, compositions and arrangements by both members of this fabulous duo.

Hope you can come along to this, despite the short notice. Sands is just a 2 minute walk from Rotherhithe Station (better than walking from Canada Water) and the entrance looks onto the back of St Mary's Church and is visible from the Mayflower Pub.
