It's been a long while since I programmed some essentially British music, and I'm looking forward to this one:

Hannah Scott writes all her own material, sings and plays guitar, and is accompanied by Stefano della Casa on cello, making it a quite original combination. I've heard her a couple of times already and really liked the shows. It's at 7.45pm, at Sands Films, Rotherhithe.

Much of the inspiration behind Hannah Scott’s music can be found in her affinity with Italy (that doesn't mean her music is in any way Italian!). A year living and working in Tuscany in her late teens provided the backdrop to her early work. She subsequently spent some months travelling back and forth to the hilltop villages of Liguria to record her well-received EP Still Static. Now she has found her musical home at Stefano della Casa’s Hertfordshire-based label, Casa Music – or, as she puts it, her “own little corner of Italy”.
Praise for Hannah’s distinctive voice, strong melodies and thought-provoking lyrics has arrived from influential publications such as MOJO, who shortlisted her from hundreds of entries for the final of their New Voice competition, and The Guardian, who handpicked her as their New Band of the Day. She can also be heard in Caffè Nero, where she has been “Artist of the Month”. Her arresting live performances have earned her invitations to open for artists including Norah Jones, Ed Sheeran and 10c.

Hannah’s latest release, "Hurricanes", sees her collaborate with producer and multi-instrumentalist Stefano, whose influence and direction have been key to her progression both as a songwriter and performer. twas recently invited to record a live session on Dermot O’Leary’s BBC Radio 2 show and has been played by Bob Harris, as well as being chosen by BBC Introducing as their “Track of the Week” for BBC 3 Counties.
