Liverpool Scene

Curiously, the Liverpool Scene have been all but forgotten. The jazz, folk and poetry collective formed by Adrian Henri and Andy Roberts in 1968 made four albums. Two of them have never been re-issued on CD, and the other two re-issues are long deleted. So I'm digitising my old vinyls. It's great to hear this stuff again. Anarchic, funny, political and tough - totally of its time but also strangely relevant and fresh sounding. Perhaps some of that 'Spirit of '68' is what we need right now.
