I know, that in a few hours, all serious SOTWsters will be glued to Jools Holland. Most likely you'll be sipping a sherry and waiting with unsurpressed excitement for endless boogie woogie piano. So an hour or two early, a full and heartfelt HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all.

I usually take the bah humbug route on NYE, always swearing I will not end up in front of the Jools Holland thing yet again. Nothing against the boogiewoogiemeister just bemoaning the lack of spirit of optimism that urges me to do something better. And why do we always have to have fireworks with everything?
Anyway, in a break with tradition, we're off to the pub soon, followed by fireworks on the beach.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL.

HNY to all!

And yes, I did the Jools thing. Not as bad as some years (he gushed with febrile enthusiasm).

Welcome to 2016, Forumfolks. I'll shortly be doing my first good deed of the year - phoning up in response to a lost cat notice. It involves me going out again, this time with my phone, so that'll be my exercise for the day, or maybe the rest of the week.

I'll give this a listen, then go out again
