I know some forum members are in touch with goings-on in the British folk scene. I’m wondering if anyone on that scene, especially in the light of the Garissa University massacre, has expressed any reservations about this year’s Radio 2 Folk Awards being hosted by an early proponent (in the modern era, at least) of the notion that Muslims are entitled, or even duty-bound, to kill people whose views they dislike.

He's headlining rather than hosting, but your point stands, Mike.

I would also point out that Yusuf Islam's views on gender and sexuality are unlikely to sit comfortably with many folkies.

I bet he doesn't do 'Matthew and Son', either.
