Steve Albini on the music industry

Albini is the guy whose studio the Foo Fighters use in the Sonic Highways Chicago episode (and I couldn't recall his name - I always get him mixed up with Steve Buscimi). He's always been irascible and going against the grain. I can't say I've ever liked much music he has made or produced but he's a musician and music fan who has always gone his own way and never sucked up to the corporate music industry so gets my respect for that. And his lecture here is, I think, accurate. It arrives just as the Taylor Swift squabble with spotify raises the issue of streaming - what she have any thoughts on Albini's polemic? Doubtful, as she is very much part of a broader entertainment industry (as opposed to a musician/ music fan). And I wonder if Vince Gill and Gene Simmons are gonna read and respond?

More importantly: what do y' all think?
